Until 2000, Reeyaz Moosa was running his very successful food and commodities importing business, Panama Gulf Trading, in the UK. Like many ambitious entrepreneurs, Reeyaz was attracted to the potential offered by the Gulf and by Dubai in particular. He moved to the emirate and continued to export specialty products from the UAE and Oman to the UK – something he still does today.

The launch of one of the world’s most unique and iconic property developments in 2001 – The Palm Jumeirah - was about to change the course of Reeyaz Moosa’s business interests. In 2001, the concept of freehold property development was launched in Dubai and, acting as a freelance agent, Reeyaz’s first sale was a shoreline apartment on The Palm Jumeirah. This opened Reeyaz’s eyes to the potential of the real estate market and he has never looked back.

In 2003 Property Plus, a company specialising in the sale of freelance property in Dubai, was created. The company’s first big venture was the purchase of Residence Safirah, a building in International City developed by Nakheel. With his business acumen, and strong networking skills, Reeyaz quickly put Property Plus at the forefront of the Dubai property scene, and it was only a matter of time before he was approached by Emaar Properties - Dubai’s most prolific developer.

The relationship with Emaar has proven highly successful with Property Plus becoming the only external company tasked with organising road shows for the company abroad in countries including China, Hong Kong and South Africa and helping to open up sales in other countries such as Pakistan. Property Plus has acted and continues to expand its activities as a key agent on developments such as The Meadows, The Greens, Dubai Marina, Arabian Ranches and most recently, Burj Dubai Downtown. Property Plus is one of Emaar’s leading agents having achieved sales in the region of $200 million.

Property Plus has also worked with other leading developers such as Trident on Marinascape, and Indigo Properties.

The food & commodities business, Panama Gulf Trading continues to thrive today. But it has been joined by a number of other businesses in Moosa Enterprises with interests in Europe, India and Pakistan, South East Asia and South Africa as well as the Gulf.

Today Moosa Enterprises is a thriving and fast-growing group with ambitious plans for the future. The group will continue to operate in the UAE and the UK but it is also expanding in markets with high growth potential such as Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria and other emerging markets.
